Biella Nuei is a legend in the Aragonese folk world. It was created with the aim of researching, studying and disseminating the musical folklore of Aragon, both its songs and dances as well as its musical instruments or the languages in which it is transmitted, with special emphasis on Aragonese.
The work carried out by Biella Nuei since its creation has been reflected in numerous albums, some of them in collaboration with great figures of roots music from other communities around the world. They have also published books and research papers, and have organised conferences, educational concerts, exhibitions and a multitude of informative activities.
Biella Nuei is now 40 years old and celebrates it with an anniversary party at the Teatro Principal in Zaragoza. With the title Ordesa, the flying tree, the concert will feature the presence of the group accompanied by several of the personalities from the world of roots music who have accompanied them on this journey: La Ronda de Boltaña, Miguel Ángel Berna, Ixo Rai!, Nacho del Río, Javier Paxariño, Crestiàn Josuer and Occitan friends, La Orquestina del Fabriol, Dulzaineros del Bajo Aragón, Joaquín Pardinilla, María José Hernández, Los Artistas del Gremio, El Mantel de Noa, Idoipe, Ester Vallejo, Jorge Casasnovas, Olga León and Jesús Rubio, Utopía Mudéjar and Pepín Banzo. A whole cast that does not detract at all from the great artistic quality of the most representative folk group of Aragon.
The concert will take place on June 16 at 8 p.m.
