On September 8, 2019, La Almunia de Doña Godina celebrates the Cabañas Festival, with a pilgrimage and dance performance. The event is organized by the Cultural Association l’Albada together with the City of La Almunia.
The Cabañas Dance, recovered 22 years ago, is kept alive and updated thanks to the work of this Cultural Association. It is made up of moving sticks, ribbons and swords, dichos to the Virgin and to the dancers, and since last year she has a chronicler who recounts the most important events that occurred during the year in the town.
The pilgrimage leaves the church at 9:30 in the morning and at 12 noon the dance is performed on the esplanade of the Cabañas park.
