The Casa de Cultura of Gallur will host, on Friday, April 17th, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., the presentation of the CD BORDONES Y BORDONETAS, 16 pieces for Aragonese bagpipe, a work composed and performed by F. Jesús López Báguena, composer and director of the Banda de Gaitas de Boto Aragonesas.
This new recording brings together sixteen original compositions, created to highlight the expressive possibilities of the gaita de boto and its role within Aragon’s musical heritage. In this album, López Báguena offers a contemporary perspective on an instrument deeply rooted in tradition, drawing on his experience as both composer and performer.
The Banda de Gaitas de Boto Aragonesas, dedicated since its foundation to the recovery, dissemination and evolution of Aragonese traditional music, has played a key role in the revitalization of the gaita de boto, now once again recognized as a symbol of Aragonese identity. Their work combines traditional pieces, modern adaptations, and original compositions inspired by regional musical heritage.
