The 5th Gathering Around the Gaita de Boto in Tierra Baja will take place on April 11th, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM, in Alcañiz (Teruel). An event that has already become essential for lovers of traditional music, and which this year celebrates its fifth edition.
Created by Gaiteros de la Tierra Baja, these sessions were born with a clear purpose: to share experiences, learn together, and strengthen bonds between gaita de boto players and musicians of other traditional wind instruments. Five editions later, the spirit remains intact… and more alive than ever.
The morning will begin with a musical workshop led by Francisco Quesada, designed to delve into technique, repertoire, and sound. Afterwards, a street parade will fill the streets of Alcañiz with music, bringing the sound of the gaita de boto to every corner. The day will continue with a lecture by musician and researcher Pedro Mir, offering context, history, and new perspectives on this instrument so deeply rooted in local tradition.
As a final touch, all participants will come together for a group performance, a moment of unity and celebration where music will be the true protagonist.
