Eliseo Parra and Vivere Memento in Zaragoza

The “No Fiestas” del Pilar bring to the stage of the Plaza de San Bruno one of the heavyweights of peninsular folk, Eliseo Parra, along with the Vivere Memento trio and its repertoire of traditional music.

Eliseo Parra is one of the greatest researchers and disseminators of Spanish musical folklore. He has collaborated with Aragonese musicians such as Ángel Vergara or Carmen París, and is a reference in the revitalization of the jota. His work has been reflected in numerous albums, the last of which, Cantar y bailar (Sing and dance), will undoubtedly be the protagonist of this concert.

Vivere Memento combines themes from the traditional Aragonese repertoire with some songs from the extensive medieval legacy forged in the memory of the inhabitants and cultures that have populated our land throughout the centuries. Traditional Sephardic songs, songs from the compilation by Martin Codax, from the Llivre Vermell de Monsterrat, or melodies taken from popular songbooks collected at the beginning of the 20th century, are a sample of this repertoire that María José Hernández, Joaquín Pardinilla and Luis Delgado select and they arrange for a variety of instruments, not all traditional, with a beautiful result.

These two greats of traditional Spanish and Aragonese music will be in the Plaza de San Bruno in Zaragoza on October 11, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.
