The dance is one of the most appreciated and best preserved traditions in the town of Sariñena (Uesca). The representation, which takes place on September 2 in honor of San Antolín, includes pastorada, dichos, angel, devil and representation of Moros and Cristianos.
Salvador Trallero, born in the town of Los Monegros and author and editor of several works on local customs, has just published the book El dance de Sariñena, dedicated to this unique dance performance that has been declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in Aragon.
The book will be presented on August 25, 2020, at 8 p.m., at the cinema-theater El Molino of Sariñena. The event will be attended by the author, accompanied by the musicians and researchers Martín Blecua and Pedro Mir, authors of the book La Gaita de Boto Aragonesa (The aragonese bagpipe) that included the texts and melodies of the dance.
At the same event, a photographic exhibition on the dance of Sariñena will be inaugurated, which can be visited until November 25.
