The folk group O’Carolan<\/strong><\/span> celebrates 30 years on stage and does it in a big way, with a concert in the Mozart hall of the Zaragoza Auditorium, in which they will offer a sample of their repertoire under the title Another look at traditional Aragonese music.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Carolan<\/strong><\/span> was born from the repertoire created by the Irish musician Turlough O\u00b4Carolan,<\/strong><\/span> author of numerous pieces for harp based on the Irish musical tradition, and many of which are still performed today.<\/p>\n

Inspired by his work and In the sounds of traditional music from various parts of Europe, O\u2019Carolan<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>recorded his first three albums, Alrededor de una vela<\/em><\/strong>, La llave de los sue\u00f1os<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0El reloj secreto.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

His fourth album, Nota de paso,<\/strong><\/em><\/span> was a look at the traditional music of Aragon with the Celtic optics that permeated his previous works. Recently, O\u2019Carolan<\/strong> <\/span>has published his fifth work, Caleidoscopio,<\/strong><\/em><\/span> with this same musical perspective although with a greater prominence of the musical folklore of Aragon, and with the collaboration of the Cuarteto Concuerda.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The concert will take place on February 4, 2024,<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0at 11.30 a.m.,<\/strong> within the 44th Introduction to Music Cycle offered by the Zaragoza Auditorium. The Concuerda Quartet<\/strong><\/span> and the String Orchestra of the Municipal School of Music and Dance of Zaragoza<\/strong><\/span> will collaborate in it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The group\u00a0O\u2019Carolan<\/strong><\/span> is formed by\u00a0Susana Arregui<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0(violin), Pilar Gonzalvo<\/strong><\/span> (Irish harp, diatonic accordion), Ernesto Coss\u00edo<\/strong><\/span> (acoustic guitar), Juli\u00e1n Ansuategui<\/strong><\/span> (percussion) and\u00a0Miguel \u00c1ngel Fraile<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>(Aragonese bagpipes, Irish bagpipes, whistles, accordion).<\/p>\n
