The\u00a0Matin\u00e9 Musical’22<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0festival once again brings concerts to the Delicias Civic Center of Zaragoza at vermouth time. This pre-normality year does so with four musical groups of various styles, among which folk shines on its own merit thanks to the presence of the Aragonese band\u00a0O’Carolan<\/strong><\/span> and the Castilian-Leonese Fet\u00e9n Fet\u00e9n.<\/span><\/strong> They are joined by David Angulo,<\/strong><\/span> who will present his new album, and the guitarists Jos\u00e9 Luis Arrazola, Alonso Mart\u00ednez<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0Tolo Pueyo,<\/strong><\/span> who present an improvisation show in the direction of the most diverse musical currents.<\/p>\n

The folk group\u00a0O\u2019Carolan<\/strong><\/span> was born from the repertoire created by the Irish musician Turlough O\u00b4Carolan,<\/strong><\/span> author of numerous pieces for harp based on the Irish musical tradition, and many of which are still performed today.<\/p>\n

Inspired by his work and In the sounds of traditional music from various parts of Europe, O\u2019Carolan<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>recorded his first three albums, Alrededor de una vela<\/em><\/strong>, La llave de los sue\u00f1os<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0El reloj secreto.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

His fourth album, Nota de paso,<\/strong><\/em><\/span> was a look at the traditional music of Aragon with the Celtic optics that permeated his previous works. Recently, O\u2019Carolan<\/strong><\/span> has published his fifth work, Caleidoscopio,<\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u00a0with this same musical perspective although with a greater impact on the musical folklore of Aragon, and with the collaboration of the Cuarteto Concuerda.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The group\u00a0O\u2019Carolan<\/strong><\/span> is formed by Susana Arregui<\/strong><\/span> (fiddle, nykleharpa and viola),\u00a0Pilar Gonzalvo<\/strong><\/span> (Irish harp, diatonic accordion), Ernesto Coss\u00edo<\/strong><\/span> (acoustic guitar), Juli\u00e1n Ansuategui<\/strong><\/span> (percussion) and\u00a0Miguel \u00c1ngel Fraile<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>(Aragonese bagpipes, Irish bagpipes, whistles, accordion).<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Fet\u00e9n Fet\u00e9n<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0duo is made up of equal parts Burgos musicians Jorge Arribas<\/strong><\/span> and\u00a0Diego Galaz,\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>who perform instrumental versions of songs drawn from the musical tradition of half the world with instruments such as the violin and the accordion, joined by a variety of unconventional lutheria gadgets, such as the handsaw, the camping chair flute, the recogeval or the frying pan.<\/p>\n

The Matin\u00e9 Musical’22<\/strong><\/span> concerts will take place on May 8, 15, 22 and 29, at 12:30 pm, at the Delicias Civic Center in Zaragoza.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
